Masthead of “247.” Is groovy, white writing blend nicely with the minty green splodge behind it. The slogan underneath is very appropriate, same colour scheme. Central image is very casual, makes the magazine seem kind of laid back and cool. The student is against a graffiti fence which although it is a student/college magazine, it is still allowed to encourage imagination and artistic creations. The cover lines are in the same style of the slogan, which connotes consistency, and style in the magazine. Along the bottom, there is a long green box that has the different genres that are inside the magazine, which means that people who want the magazine for specific reasons can look quickly to see what is in it before they buy it.
The contents page is very subtle with colours, not using a huge variety of them. The Picture is a nice bright yet sophisticated piece of art that you wouldn’t usually be seen in a magazine but works nicely with the context of the magazine and the image the magazine is trying to get across to the readers. The orange border around the image also has the writing (contents) on it. The simple white writing blends perfectly with the orange border giving it a warm feel to the magazine. The layout of the contents page is very effective and connotes organisation and formality which is a direct contrast of the image of the magazine.
